Skegness & Winthorpe Judo Clubs
Welcome to The Skegness and Winthorpe Judo, Judjitsu and Iaido website, please look around the site to find more information about our clubs, we cater for all abilities and ages ranging from 5 year old juveniles to Senior Dan Grades, all are welcome.
Judo training times are: Tuesday, term time only, at Seathorne School Winthorpe 6.30 - 8.00 juniors,8.00 - 9.30 Seniors, and Fridays at Skegness Grammar School 6.30 - 8.00 all classes.
Jujitsu training times are 8.00 - 10.00 Fridays at Skegness Grammar School.
Iaido training times are 6.30 - 8.00 Fridays at Skegness Grammar School
We encourage anyone interested in martial arts to come along and visit one of the training sessions.
Senior Nationals – 27th Nov 2011 - Report

Members of the Skegness and Seathorne judo clubs contested the Senior national judo championship held at High - Wycombe judo centre on 27th November once again achieving some fantastic results;
7 medals from 9 contestants. In the ladies 57kg class Sian Mason achieved the silver medal performing well in all her contests. Ladies 63kg class was contested by Lauren Balmbra who took the gold medal including one fight where she threw Koshi-guruma for ippon. Mens 81kg class was contested by Tom Windle and Alan Lowis who failed to achieve any medals despite Tom throwing one of his opponents for ippon. Mens 90kg class was entered by Tony Lee and Shaun Ellis who both achieved bronze medals, although bragging rights belong to Shaun as he won their individual contest. Mens 100kg class turned out to be a completely dan grade contest with Mark Mason gaining bronze medal despite having to retire through injury. Mens over 100kg was again entered by 2 contestants Dean Harmston and Ashley Windle achieving bronze and silver medals respectively. The open contest was only entered by one club member, Dean Harmston, who performed outstandingly well to take the silver medal.

Presentation 2011
Seathorne Judo Club held their presentation evening for the clubs' high achievers, for what the instructors described as extremely difficult choices, in a very successful year both in competitions and gradings. The Commitment to Judo award; sponsored and presented by Samantha Ling-Hall of Mooch perfect gifts, was awarded to Neo Taylor, Outstanding Judoka of the year; sponsored by R & B Catering equipment, presented by Brian Mason, was awarded to Ethan Steele. Most Improved Judoka of the year, sponsored by RGL Carpets, presented by Richard Lewis, was awarded to Shanelle Wood. Best Judoka of the Year, sponsored by Fenland Laundries presented by Sensei Mark Mason, was awarded to Tyler Irving. Senior Ladder League Trophy sponsored by The Royal Oak, Winthorpe, presented by Sensei Mark Mason was won by Ashley Windle. Many thanks were voiced to all of the clubs sponsors including Skegness Round Table for sponsoring a crash mat and Fresh Fitness for sponsoring club hoodies.
